The control of the main-beam headlamps may be automatic regarding their activation and deactivation, the control signals being produced by a sensor system which is capable of detecting and reacting to each of the following inputs: A layout drawing of the lighting and light-signalling equipment as a whole, showing the position of the various devices on the vehicle; 3.
The emergency stop signal on any such trailer may operate independently of the towing vehicle and is not required to operate either at the same frequency as, or in phase with that on the towing vehicle.
Other requirements As specified in paragraph 6. Amber; however the rearmost side retro-reflector can be red if it is grouped or has part of the light-emitting surface in common with the rear position lamp, the rear end outline marker lamp, the rear fog lamp, the stop lamp, the red rearmost side-marker lamp or the rear retro-reflector, non-triangular.
Before making any measurement wait until the vehicle has assumed its final attitude with the engine running. Examples of apparent surface based on light-emitting surface in different directions of geometric visibility.
The hazard warning signal shall be able to function even if the device which starts or stops the engine is in a position which makes it impossible to start the engine. Additional retro-reflecting devices and materials including two retro-reflectors not complying with paragraph 6. The dimension and the external shape of the vehicle; 2. There shall be affixed, conspicuously and in a readily accessible place specified on the approval form, to every vehicle conforming to a vehicle type approved under this Regulation, an international approval mark consisting of:.
Ensure that for each type of vehicle at least the tests prescribed in Annex 9 to this Regulation or physical checks from which equivalent data may be derived are carried out. It shall be achieved, within the specified tolerances, when the replaceable light source is energised by the power supply at the specified test voltage, as indicated in the data sheet of the light source. Rear position lamps, rear direction-indicators and rear retro-reflectors, triangular as well as non triangular, may be installed on movable components only: Confirmation of extension or refusal of approval, specifying the alteration, shall be communicated by the procedure specified in paragraph 4.
Since the photometric values required for front fog lamps do not cover the full geometric field of vision, a minimum value of one cd in the space remaining is required for type-approval purposes. A light source may also be constituted by the extreme outlet of a light-guide, as part of a distributed lighting or light-signalling system not having a built-in outer lens.
Direction-indicator lamps shall switch on independently of the other lamps. In length, no special requirement. The signal shall be operated by means of a separate manual control enabling all the direction-indicator lamps to flash in phase. Arrangement No special requirement. It shall be non-flashing. Since the photometric values required for dipped-beam headlamps do not cover the full geometric field of vision, a minimum value of 1 cd in the space remaining is required for type-approval purposes.
However, the technical authorities and manufacturers may jointly propose other methods either experimental or based upon dceespecially when the test poses particular problems, provided such calculations are clearly valid. One person in the driver’s seat: Until 36 months after the date of entry into force of the 03 series of amendments to this Regulation, no Contracting Party applying this Regulation ecee refuse national or regional type approval of a vehicle type approved to the preceding series of amendments to this Regulation.
Stop lamp Regulation No 7. We do not re-word, summarise, cut or interpret the regulatory documents.
Regulation 49 – 06 series (click to expand)
For M 1 and N 1 category vehicles not more than mm above the ground. Where rear marking plates conforming to the 01 series of amendments to Regulation No 70 are installed these may be considered, the discretion of the manufacturer, part of the conspicuity marking to the rear, for the purposes of calculating the length of the conspicuity marking and its proximity to the side of the vehicle.
If it exists its function shall be carried out by the tell-tale required for the front and rear position lamps. In the event of failure, other than short-circuit, of one direction-indicator lamp, the others shall continue to flash, but the frequency in this condition may be different from that prescribed.
Before each measurement, the vehicle shall be rocked as specified in paragraph 5. This lamp is intended, for certain vehicles and trailers, to complement the vehicle’s front and rear position lamps by drawing particular attention to its bulk; 2.
Stop lamps of Category S4 may produce variable luminous intensity independent from the other lamps. Presence Mandatory on vehicles exceeding 2,10 m in width. It shall be possible to switch the front fog lamps ON and OFF independently of the main-beam headlamps, the dipped-beam headlamps or any combination of main- and dipped-beam headlamps, unless the front fog lamps are used as part of another lighting function in an AFS; however, the switching ON of the front fog lamps function shall have the priority over the function for which the front fog lamps are used as a part.
Existing approvals under this Regulation before the date of entry into force of the 05 series of amendment to this Regulation shall remain valid indefinitely.
Uniform Provisions Concerning the Approval of: All lighting units of an AFS shall be mounted at the front. The signal shall be f48 by simultaneous operation of the direction-indicator lamps in accordance with the requirements of paragraph 6. Determination of the measured initial inclination The vehicle shall be prepared as specified in cee 4 and laden as specified in Annex 5 first loading condition of the respective vehicle category.
Minimum number per side Such that the rules for longitudinal positioning are complied with. Where a vehicle is fitted with four concealable headlamps the installation of two additional headlamps shall only be authorised for the purpose of light-signalling, consisting of intermittent illumination, at short intervals see paragraph 5.
Arrangement ‘B’ shall apply to trailers only. Ecee is permitted to replace category 5 side direction-indicator lamps by category 6 side direction-indicator lamps in all instances.
GAR | Installation of Lighting
Parts 1 and 4 ; This shall be declared according to one of r488 following conditions: Orientation Rearwards In the case of the two optional devices mentioned in paragraph 6. Orientation As specified in Paragraph 6. A light source may also be constituted by the extreme outlet of a light-guide, as part of a sce lighting or light-signalling system not having a built-in outer lens; 2. For other applications of the illuminating surface, e.

However, the technical authorities and manufacturers may jointly propose other methods either experimental or based upon calculationsespecially when the test poses particular problems, provided such calculations are clearly valid.
The value of the dipped-beam initial inclination specified by the motor vehicle manufacturer serving as a reference value for the calculation of permissible variations. Presence Devices of S1 or S2 categories: The signal shall be operated by means of a separate control enabling all the direction-indicator lamps to flash in phase. Reversing lamp Regulation No For M 1 and N 1 category vehicles:.
